POLICIES

 

By purchasing our goods and services, or by obtaining employment in our company, you (the customer, employee, or contractor/1099) agree that you have read and that you adhere to the following policies: 


ONYX (a.k.a. 'THE HOUSE', 'our', 'we') reserves the right to reject requests to create content or graphics that fall outside of its design scope or that does not align with its core values. As such, THE HOUSE does not design or print material that: a) knowingly promotes gun violence, criminality, cruelty to humans or animals, discrimination, hatred, and victimization; b) is considered defamatory, infringing, obscene, offensive, tortuous, or unlawful; c) creates a false identity or impersonates another for the purpose of misleading others as to your true identity, including, but not limited to, providing misleading information to and through any communications systems or feedback system utilized by ONYX; and d), infringes upon any patent, trademark, service mark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party.


Job Orders:

The signed Job Order (a.k.a. The Contract) is the legal instrument by which ONYX agrees to deliver fee-based services and products to its customers. 


Non-discrimination and Non-hatred:

ONYX does not discriminate against others on the basis of disability, race, age, gender, or sexual orientation/identification.

Hatred towards others---expressed in any form, for any reason, on or off our premises as long as you are employed by ONYX on a full-time, part-time, or contract/1099 basis---is not tolerated by or within our company culture.


Contract Employment, COVID-19 and Other Health Requirements:

All employees, including those who are hired through staffing agencies, are required to be COVID-19 vaccinated at the time of employment and are required to follow the employer's health guidelines that are informed by science, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), and the Virginia Department of Health. Employees must be able to lift materials, tools, and apparatus weighing 50+ lbs. while performing work-related duties.

 

Drug-free, Tobacco-free, and Weapon-free Workplace and Practices:

ONYX is a drug-free, tobacco-free, and weapon-free company. Tobacco use, marijuana use, illicit drug use, firearms, and other weapons (explosives, hazardous biological agents, tasers, mace, tear gas, and knives that are not work-specific tools) are not permitted in our facilities, in our vehicles, and on our job sites. Drug-tests are required.

Cellular Phone Usage: Cellular phone usage is prohibited during work hours (except breaks) and while operating vehicles.


Physical Security:

Access to our facilities are controlled and monitored. Only authorized personnel can access our facilities, computers, and printers. 

Confidentiality and Privacy: 

Confidentiality and privacy are priorities at ONYX. Therefore, we have developed electronic, physical, and managerial procedures to ensure, to the greatest extent possible, that there is no unauthorized or unnecessary disclosure of our customers' personal, proprietary, or copyrighted information. Communications are maintained in confidence by our firm and its assigns. We do not disclose our customers' information to third-parties beyond those that are collaboratively involved in, and legally bound by, contract fulfillment. We do not rent or sell our customers' private information. 


Cloud-computing, printing, storage, and protection:

ONYX utilizes cloud-based and non-cloud-based production platforms to prepare, duplicate, transfer, and manage files. To secure the transfer and storage of data, our cloud uses industry-leading SSL encryption technology, firewall protection, intrusion detection, user authentication, and e-shredding. However, we honor our clients' requests to have their content created on non-cloud platforms. 


Computer and Data Transmission Security:

ONYX prohibits transmitting or uploading any material that contains viruses such as Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, or any other harmful viruses or programs. THE HOUSE prohibits Interfering with or disrupting its website, networks or servers connected to its website; and, THE HOUSE prohibits violation of the regulations, policies or procedures of such networks or servers.


​Change Orders:

Changes made to art work, content, or graphics after they have been approved by electronic signature but before the job goes to the presses and plotters will incur surcharges. Changes cannot be made after the job goes to the presses and plotters. THE HOUSE will allow only two revisions to be made to custom work.


Fees: 

A 50% deposit must be paid to begin the job, and the balance is due before the final product is released to the Customer. However, invoicing is available to governments, schools, and non-profits. We offer discounts for invoices that are paid NET 15.
